KIDD (KISS-Induced Dysgnosia and Dyspraxia)
My child behaves so differently – he is noticeably clumsy, has a lot of trouble concentrating, is markedly impatient or even aggressive, is an outsider. Coordination difficulties, headaches, and posture problems are likewise an issue.
The potential outcomes and limitations of our therapy are briefly outlined below. This should make it easier for you to approach us with further questions. In the last decades we have learned to consider many features in school children with (among other possibilities) the spinal column in mind. Headaches, for example, are frequently caused (or caused in part) by disruptions of the spinal column. This is most appreciable in the case of a posture flaw, which is generally also the ground for a visit to us. The following example shows how the effect of restricted spinal column mobility can become increasingly problematic.
A Typical Case
A child who, beginning in the nursing stage, cannot move his neck freely will attempt to balance out the problem with his thorax. The restricted mobility of the neck can hardly be detected from an external vantage point. However, hand-eye coordination, sense of balance, and the overall sense of spatial orientation depend to a large extent on this area of the body. When dysfunction arises here, the child has difficulties with many tasks. In a case such as this, the involvement of the spinal column is not at first obvious.
